eIDAS 2, Article 29(1) — Requirements for qualified electronic signature creation devices

Qualified electronic signature creation devices shall meet the requirements laid down in Annex II.

eIDAS 2, Article 29(1a) — Requirements for qualified electronic signature creation devices

Generating or managing electronic signature creation data or duplicating such signature creation data for back-up purposes shall be carried out only on behalf of the signatory, at the request of the signatory, and by a qualified trust service provider providing a qualified trust service for the management of a remote qualified electronic signature creation device.

eIDAS 2, Article 29(2) — Requirements for qualified electronic signature creation devices

The Commission may, by means of implementing acts, establish reference numbers of standards for qualified electronic signature creation devices. Compliance with the requirements laid down in Annex II shall be presumed where a qualified electronic signature creation device meets those standards. Those implementing acts shall be adopted in accordance with the examination procedure referred to in Article 48(2).
